Edinburgh Part 2.

Following a busy but also strangely relaxing day in Edinburgh, we woke up bright an early and caught a cab bound for the center of Old Town. Our adventure today took us way outside of our temporary home city and all across the breathtaking Scottish highlands.

Edinburgh Part 1.

Scotland is beautiful and so rich with history that it could take weeks to really see everything you want. We had 3 days.

With a few solid plans on the books, we made Edinburgh our base and left plenty of time to wander.

Last Day in Lovely London

Regent st-3.jpg

On Thursday, our last full day in beautiful London, we did as any good Anglophile would do and tried our first Afternoon Tea. After months of searching for the perfect venue, I decided on Hotel Cafe Royal and I am so glad I did! Because you don’t just pick any ol’ place to cross an item off your bucket list, my friends!

Day three- Tower of London and a very special ceremony.

On the third day of our trip one of my worst fears came true. We overslept! It was awful but not as awful as the jet lag we were both plagued with after our overnight flight to London where neither of us were able to get a wink of sleep. In addition to being in a perpetual zombie-like state for a few days I was also dealing with vertigo, which I’ve never experienced before.

I’ll share how I dealt with vertigo, how we survived that flight and the 13 hour return flight in a later post. For now however, let me take you through our third day in London and what we did, saw, ate and the one thing I need to get back to London for!

Second Day- Hampton Court Palace

On day two of our London adventure we woke up to a beautiful, cloudy, 60ºF morning…in July. Perfect summer weather if you ask the hubby and I!

Classic British weather for a visit to a classic British icon.

Hampton Court Palace has been #1 on my list of places to see in England for well over a decade now! I am a Tudor history nut, so it has always been my dream to visit the home of the infamous King Henry VIII and his six wives.

First Day – Kensington & Notting Hill

Great Britain has been #1 on my list of dream travel destinations since I was about ten years old. Way back then, a schoolmate brought back pictures of Stonehenge that his family took on their trip to England and at that moment a lifelong obsession was born. Though my ideal trip involved a month-long tour through all of England, I conceded to just four short days in London for the first leg of the trip and then another three days in Edinburgh. I am going to do a post for each day, filled with some of the hundreds of photos we took, detailing where we went, what we did and other exciting things like that!

How to make a busy board for little ones

Our little Lilly is so inquisitive these days – as are most babies and toddlers! Her current interests include light switches, outlets, cords and other potentially dangerous things around the house! To satiate her curiosity and help feed her rapidly growing brain, Nate and I decided to combine all her favorite dangerous things in a safe way for her to explore. I give you …… the busy board!

4 Patriotic looks for the 4th of July

Independence Day – arguably my favorite warm weather holiday and the day when the entire U.S. population dons their red, white and blue to celebrate the birth of our nation!

Happy 6th Anniversary!

Today – June 23rd, 2018 – marks 6 years that Nate and I have had in wedded bliss!

Ok that might be a stretch. Anyone who is married can pretty much agree that marriage takes work, lots of work. Hard work.

But is all the hard work worth it?

Yes. Every. Single. Time.
