Monica Vinader Jewelry + Reviews, Recommendations, and More!

My love of dainty jewelry goes back to the memory of my very first piece of gifted jewelry from my parents when I was no more than six or seven years old. At that time in the 1990s I really enjoyed Winnie the Pooh, and for Christmas they gave me a thin silver necklace chain with a tiny enameled Pooh charm. I actually still have it somewhere here! Perhaps nostalgia is why I adore simple, and elegant pieces of jewelry. Perhaps it’s that I like to make subtle but no less dazzling statements with my gold, pearls, and diamonds. Though I keep my Pooh necklace, it’s my daughters who wear it instead of me; my propensities are well ordered to more grown up styles such as these.

At the end of last year, I became a brand ambassador for British-based jewelry designer Monica Vinader and fulfilled a dream that I’d had since beginning my blog to work with them! With stores across Europe and the USA, I was familiar with the brand and knew of their ethical practices in production, sourcing conflict-free diamonds and gems, and using recycled metals so that nothing goes to waste. The first two pieces I chose to add to my dainty jewelry collection were this elegant Nura Pearl necklace set, and beaded chain bracelet, which I think look fabulous together, layered with other pieces, or own their own. What I like most about the brand is their use of vermeil (ver-may) for their gold pieces. This makes high-quality jewelry accessible without the “solid” precious metal price tag. Vermeil is different from gold-plated, or gold-dipped in that unlike the other two, vermeil uses a sterling silver base and a thick layer of gold over top of it. This makes for long-lasting jewelry that looks more expensive than it is!

Upon closer inspection, the freshwater Nura pearl pendant has a breathtaking rainbow luster that picks up colors and shimmers in the light – this natural pearl is a true standout! Since it is a naturally formed gem, the shape of each pearl varies slightly adding to the uniqueness of your individual jewel. I went with the 17″ chain for a decidedly classic look but love the beaded chain that would match with my bracelet. About the bracelet; I stepped out of my comfort zone with this one being someone who doesn’t usually wear anything on my wrist on a given day, and I would say this is the perfect way to add a touch of sparkle without getting in the way. It’s as light as a feather as it’s appearance would suggest, and has an adjustable closure to accommodate your desired length. For ladies with small wrists, this bracelet is a wonderful fit without tons of leftover chain.

If you would like to try Monica Vinader jewelry, may I suggest starting with the beautiful Nura pearl necklace? It’s sold as a pendant with either 18k gold, or silver that can be worn on a chain as a necklace or bracelet, slipped onto hoop or loop earrings, or added to your favorite charm necklace. This versatile piece offers multiple possibilities for styling, and is the perfect classic piece to add to your dainty jewelry stash, or start your collection.
