The Sunday Edit | 9.19.21

You can tell I’m starting to become ever so slightly excited for fall based on this week’s The Sunday Edit because everything is brown! I did not plan that. As the world gets more crazy, I find myself wanting to do so much to make my home physically and mentally a respite from the garbage out in society. For that reason, I’ve never been as focused on home decor as I am now, and in this edit you’ll find two budget-friendly options to freshen up your interior. Part of making a home feel like a home is having freshly baked treats, I’m sure we can all agree on that, so I’ve linked our current (for the last 3 months really) reigning favorite baked treats in this week’s edit, too. Finally, your fashion fix is delivered in the form of a pair of $500 shoes that are marked down to … well, I won’t spoil the surprise for you but I will tell you that I bagged a pair as soon as I saw the price, and will have these for years to come. Keep reading this week’s The Sunday Edit to see what all the buzz is about!

1. Kamut Blueberry Banana Struesel Muffins

I’ve made this recipe more times than I can count since discovering it in June – it’s SO GOOD! I always have at least three bananas left that are just too ripe to eat on their own and this is my favorite way to use up those extra sweet and mushy fruits. I love Kamut flour because of its high protein content; one of these muffins is enough for breakfast for me or an afternoon pick-me-up after lunch. I’ve made these with chocolate chunks in place of blueberries, which is Nate’s favorite way, while the girls and I love the blueberries! Give these a try, and don’t worry if you don’t have Kamut, any flour will work but Kamut is definitely something every serious baker should try!

2. Gold Bamboo Photo Frame

I purchased this inexpensive frame a few weeks go and absolutely love it! For a designer look-for-less the quality is excellent. I ordered a 4×6 which does not come matted, but have this 8×10 matted to 5×7 in my cart to order next. Some of my frames are due for an upgrade and I love how simply replacing a few frames around the house is a great budget-friendly way to freshen up interior decor!

3. Camel Loafers – On Sale!

I saw this pair of loafers a few seasons ago and it was love at first sight! I’ve been holding out for the perfect pair of smoking slippers/loafers for fall for just as long, as nothing I found struck my fancy nearly as much as these did. Much to my delight, I saw them over the summer on major markdown and immediately snapped them up; it was meant to be! The material is buttery soft and the upper is flexible enough that there’s no break-in period and they feel like slippers straight out of the box. They run true to size.

4. Bow Tie-Backs

How cute are these gold bow tie-backs! I love finding simple budget-friendly ways to update my home decor, and add layers and textures to make the space feel more lived-in and homey. These are under $40 and would look adorable in a girl’s room or grandmillennial-style living room!
