Hi friends and happy Sunday! After 2 weeks battling a wicked cold/flu combo, my family and I are on the mend and slowly able to resume normal activities like exercise and staying awake all day. In my excessive down-time I had an opportunity to brainstorm the direction of my blog and social accounts, and today I’m rolling out the first change! I’m excited about this post because I’m bringing back my favorite things edit but with a new title, fresh content, and a new home timeslot. Every Sunday evening you can expect an email – if you’re a subscriber – to a new The Sunday Edit spotlighting four things I’ve found that have particularly captured my attention over the last week. As with my previous favorite things series, you’ll find topics in home decor, food, travel, fashion, and anything else that gets a spot here on Mia At The Moment in a short easily digestible edit for your Sunday reading pleasure!
This dress has it all for fall; the silhouette, the cotton material, the color palette, and the $128 price tag tick every one of my boxes! I’m waiting for one of their weekly sales to snag it at an even lower price, but already know that if I sleep on this dress it will forever haunt me as the one that got away. I think I already discussed this in an earlier post but this deep chocolate brown color is one of the trending colors for AW21.
Early in August, I ordered this divine pair of designer throw pillows from a fellow Virginian who custom makes all of her pillows to order. As soon as I saw she offered one of my favorite designer fabrics, the Sister Parish ‘Dolly’ in the perfect Carolina blue colorway, I knew I had to order them! They arrived 4 weeks later (remember, custom made) and they are every bit as gorgeous and well made as they are in the photos!
Don’t wait until November to make sure your bakeware is ready to go for the biggest baking season of the year! This elegant set of Staub baking dishes is on sale for $50 and is the perfect side-dish size, and comes in a variety of colors to go with your Thanksgiving and Christmas tablescape. I’m ordering mine now to skip the frantic last-minute search when I inevitably discover I haven’t got enough dishes to bake everything all at once!
Among the many unpleasant symptoms we dealt with, dehydration despite drinking tons of water was one and one that I absolutely knew how to fix. I’ve been a devoted Redmond Real Salt fan for over a year now and heard about this electrolyte mix from a nutritionist months ago but haven’t tried it until now. While I can’t comment on the taste of this particular flavor, I can say that this stuff works! As soon as I added this to our daily regimen I instantly felt hydrated and even slightly more energized. We all need water but the problem with drinking too much water (especially if it’s heavily filtered like ours is) is that it can actually begin to flush out minerals and nutrients our bodies need if we drink too much. Adding vital minerals in with your water is the best way to ensure you’re staying hydrated without over-hydrating, and this is the best way to do it. Use this in place of Pedialyte, which contains toxic artificial colors and chemical flavorings, when you and your family are unwell, or use it in place of sports drinks for the same reasons.
