Sharing details and styling my new LWD + a white mini dress edit.
No summer wardrobe is complete without a little white dress, or LWD. A good LWD will be comfortable, practical for multiple activities and events, and achingly cute. You should feel your absolute best in it without needing to fiddle with keeping the skirt put, or adjusting the top, and it should be appropriate enough to wear straight off the beach and into an elegant brunch. That’s a lot for a single garment, but not if the design is classic, craftsmanship is premium, and all important accessories are chosen wisely. I’ve recently picked up my dream LWD, which was surprisingly something my wardrobe had been lacking as I’ve only recently begun wearing mini dresses again. I wanted to share with you a few of the ways I’ve already styled this darling white mini dress, and will link it as well as other similar options, as well. First, the details of this chic white mini dress.
The triple bow is what got me at first. That was actually all I saw in a promo image for this dress and knew I had to have it; it was pure serendipitous fortune that it also happened to be the perfect mini length falling just above my knee, and have my favorite puff sleeve detail. Cotton poplin can be hit or miss for me, with lesser quality poplins feeling rigid, crinkling easily, and being noisy to move around in but that is not the case with this dress, or this brand. I now have two cotton poplin dresses from this brand and both are silky smooth, (thicker, softer, and less wrinkle-prone than my J. Crew poplins) and don’t make a single sound when moving around in them. All good dress designers know it’s imperative to add pockets, and this detail was certainly not left out on this wonderful dress! Another very well thought-out design detail is the modesty patch beneath the lower two ties at the front. This is perfect for negating any need for a separate under garment, whilst also preserving the wearer’s modesty. I’ve linked each item in my photos below, so click the description to shop!

I have always loved gold and white for a clean, elegant summer pairing – its a timeless combo! If you’re going out for a more elegant affair, I recommend a neutral styling as shown above. To me, gold is a summer neutral and you just can’t go wrong with a neutral look, no matter the occasion. This dress is just the right length to work in a variety of situations, as it isn’t too short, and not too long to be too nightgown-ish. These sleek gold heels are extremely wearable and feel broken-in straight from the box; they have already become my go-to for warm weather occasions where I want to make a more subtle statement and be comfortable while wearing. These trendy gold and faux pearl detail earrings were worth the less than $50 price tag (even less with email sign up and coupon) so I felt they were a worthy addition to my jewelry collection. They’re weightless and so pretty in person, I will be getting plenty of use out of these. On my other wrist is my go-to pearl bracelet which has a very similar look to the earrings. Unfussy, elegant, head-turning but not demanding of attention; in a word, ladylike.

Shop look 2: Dress | Earrings | Sandals | Bag | Towel | Sunglasses
On the farthest other end of the spectrum is a day at the beach, and this dress works for that brilliantly, as well! Though truth-be-told, I most likely won’t be wearing this dress as a beach cover-up (I would die if I soiled it with sunscreen or salty water), I do however plan to wear it for an evening walk along the shore. I’ve dressed my LWD down with Greek-inspired strappy sandals, my favorite Provincial market tote, and gold seashell earrings.

Shop look 3: Dress | Earrings | Scarf | Bag | Bracelet | Sandals
The last look (for now) is intended for visiting friends and family, or any warm weather, casual day-time activities. I’ve added a pop of color with the silk scarf, and pink tote in my favorite pastel pink and blue palette. Jewelry and hair are kept simple and unfussy with my VCA Alhambra dupe earrings, and go-to pearl bracelet. I also styled this same look with my favorite straw handbag and think I prefer that way, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty of occasions to wear it with either! Bringing back my Hermes Oran dupe sandals from last year for a chic-casual option that’s just a bit more dressed up than flip-flops or sneakers to complete the look.
