My New Favorite Spring Dress + Gal Meets Glam Collection

I’ve been meaning to write about this amazing dress since it arrived in the mail two (or more?) weeks ago, but alas, things have been so crazy with school being closed and everything else going on right now in the world that I just haven’t had the time. Now that we’ve had time to adjust a little bit, I’m bringing my focus back to what fulfills me and keeps me sane during this uncertain time; writing here on my blog about fashion. It’s a momentary break from all that’s going on and the awkwardness that comes with not knowing what lies ahead, but it’s necessary to focus on the positives, the beauty and things that bring joy. I feel like I need to add the disclaimer that this isn’t meant to ignore or minimize everyone’s struggle at the present time, but rather provide a brief escape and something to read other than negative news. And with that, I am beyond happy to share my new favorite spring dress!

You’ve heard me talk about Gal Meets Glam Collection before. It’s one of my favorite reasonably priced dress brands for glamorous dresses for day (seen here) and occasion (seen here and here). Julia is a master at listening to and creating what her customers are asking for, and it’s apparent in her skill for debuting the most feminine and beautiful dresses in each new month’s collection. I’m particularly fond of her floral prints and stripes, so when I saw the Geraldine dress in the March look book your girl just about died!

The French-inspired floral and stripe print and spring garden color palette had me sold at first glance. So swoon-worthy! What I wasn’t too sure of – being a very short and slightly curvy lady – is how the midaxi (somewhere between a midi and maxi) length would translate on my petite frame. All my doubts were cast away as soon as I tried it on – it is the perfect maxi length and just completely flattering all over!

Print, palette, and length aside; this dress also includes functional deep side pockets and aesthetically pleasing ribbon tie-shoulder detail. The bodice, which is fitted, is lined and the skirt is unlined; thought absolutely not see-through. This is such a smart design choice because usually a long dress or skirt is the last thing I want to wear on a muggy Maryland summer day, but I know that this dress is breezy and light enough to be just as comfortable on the hottest summer day as it is during spring!

Shop: Dress (got mine here with 10% off)| Shoes (currently 20% off!)| Necklace | Earrings (old) similar here, here.

I can’t wait until I can wear this gorgeous dress for a day exploring Georgetown, going to church, or even just running errands as the weather becomes warmer. I’m so happy with this purchase and will be adding to this post as I wear it and style it different ways!

xo, Mia
