Camel and Black Styled Two Ways

Camel and black are one of those classic color combinations that exude sophistication. It’s also surprisingly easy to put together a look in these two tones that looks polished for work, and casual chic for any other time. Here’s how I’ve done it:

Casual chic

When I’m not cozied up in plaid, tweed and fluffy pullovers for fall, I’m wearing something like this. Something casual and comfortable – because #momlife – yet polished and sophisticated because when you look good you feel good, ya with me?

And looking good is made exponentially easier when you utilize a few wardrobe staples in a simple, timeless color palette of camel and black. It’s a deceptively simple formula for looking chic and polished while also remaining comfortable.

Here’s what you’ll need – and you probably have all of it in your closet already!

-A neat, fitted black tee (no off-the-shoulder, holes, pockets, etc.).
-A camel blazer or jacket.
-A pair of jeans without holes or fading (J.Crew jeans are the best, most comfortable jeans on the market! Reasonably priced as well and always on sale).
-A black handbag (matching with the tee).
-A pair of camel pumps (matching with the outerwear).
-And your favorite dainty jewelry (gold is always my go-to)!

Mix these closet staples, in a color palette that’s timeless and elegant, and voila! You have a simple, yet polished casual outfit!

Wear to work

Classics all around for this cute camel and black work ensemble. Lets just talk about these pants for a minute – they’re the best. So flattering, the perfect rise, super soft and machine washable! I have them in sizes 2 and 4 (wearing the 4 here) and love wearing the size 2 instead of leggings! They’re that comfortable. Bonus! They come in a bunch of colors and go on sale pretty frequently. The next color on my list is, what else, camel!

Ok, now for the rest of the ‘fit. I’ve gone with the most classic jewelry choice, a matching pearl set. I found this set at the Kate Spade outlet store and got everything for less than $50. The quality and look is so far beyond the price I paid, so I love dressing preppy just to bust out these babies!

Speaking of preppy, this classic cable knit in 100% cotton is one of my favorite sweaters in my closet (seen here, here, and here in a different color). It’s cable detailing looks so smart whether it’s layered over, under or on its own and is conducive to a variety of personal styles. I found this sweater at the RL outlet which is where you can get it with the white polo logo (crucial detail).

Always a fan of mixing textures, I’ve opted for my favorite suede half d’orsay pumps and a massive pebble leather satchel.
