Is it just me, or do handbag trends come and go faster than clothing trends? The season’s “IT bag” changes as quickly as day becomes night and therefore, makes investing $1,000+ on a designer handbag completely unrealistic for many people, myself included. This is why I prefer to stick to classic styles that never go out of fashion. However, every now and again that one trendy bag comes along that’s versatile and chic and I just have to have it.
Thankfully, there are plenty of designer dupes out there that look pretty close to the real deal, but at a fraction of the cost. I’ve gathered some of my favorites that are right on trend for this fall and winter and show them alongside their designer look-a-likes.

The Chloe Tess bag has been reiterated over the last couple of years, but this year’s model is by far my favorite! You know when you just feel so drawn to something, but can’t just pick one favorite aspect about it? That’s how I feel about the Tess. From the cool beige leather combined with the warm gold hardware, to the ’70s inspired thick crossbody strap – the Tess (in ‘motty grey’) is both perfectly on trend and will also stand the test of time in the right wardrobe. The dupe is also a high-quality piece by La Parmentier and looks just like the Chloe bag – I would have a hard time choosing between these two!
Snake print may just be the most popular print of AW19. Everything from pleated midi skirts to button down blouses, and even pointed-toe boots are popping up in this reptilian print. While the Gucci uses actual snake skin, the dupe has a nearly identical shape and chic vegan animal print that will complete literally every outfit this fall and winter.
A bag that really needs no explanation for being on this list because it’s on every list, always. See that designer price? That’s for a used bag. If you’re looking to really treat yourself with an investment purchase that will only appreciate (yes, they go up) in value, the Hermes Kelly is it. (pictured is the mini Kelly).
Another Chloe bag makes this list because if you haven’t noticed, the 1970s are back and Chloe bags are the perfect vintage-inspired modern classics. How close to the real deal is this dupe?!
Aspinal London first came onto my radar a few years ago when I saw Duchess Catherine and the Queen herself carrying a few of the brand’s classic styles. I particularly love this top handle flap bag and love the classic croc print; all three of which are right on trend for AW19.
Bottega Veneta is currently having a moment – a major moment. From their squared-toe strappy sandals, mesh mules, and now this. Reminiscent of a throw pillow, this cute little clutch has spread across social media, style magazines and every fashion girl’s wish list like wildfire this year. Due to its rapid rise to fame, this is now one of the most coveted items on trend going into winter.
