This post is the first in a two-part series on styling this gorgeous malachite green ensemble now, while the weather is still warm and later when we are fully immersed in fall. Which by the way, can’t come soon enough!

I have long been a lover of toile de jouy. Really, anything in the French style of bygone years for that matter! So when I stumbled upon this top completely by accident, I had to have it. Paired with a trendy pleated malachite green skirt – which is set to be THE color of fall 2019 – these pieces are perfect for fall-transition and all the way into winter. Here’s how I styled it for fall-transition…

Fall-transition season (roughly August through mid-September if you’re in a warmer climate) presents the unique opportunity to mix breezy summer staples with deep jewel-tones. Pairing this outfit with a vintage inspired wide-brim hat boldly declares, “I’m ready for fall, but the weather is not, so I’m still accessorizing for summer.”
Strappy sandals – another summer staple – also help to keep this rich outfit light and appropriate for lingering warmer temperatures.

Dark accessories like this handbag place one foot firmly in fall and balance the summery hat and shoes.

I can’t wait to show you how I’ve styled this gorgeous malachite and toile ensemble for fall – stay tuned!!
