Summer for me means all things red, white & blue.
Spicy warm reds, cooled by elegant navy hues – brightened by crisp white eyelet linen and grounded by earthy textures of straw and jute.
I don’t think you could possibly find something more illustrative of American style.
This linen eyelet skirt from Rachel Parcell Collection ended my search for the perfect white midi skirt with just one look. Beyond the delicate eyelet and sweet scalloped hem that first capture your gaze is an additional lining that makes this the only truly non-see through white skirt (garment, for that matter) I’ve yet to find, at any price point.
The front buttons all the way through, so I keep the bottom two unbuttoned for a casual look. A partially elasticized waistband means you can eat all the hot dogs, apple pies and potato salads your little Yankee heart desires, and two side pockets mean you get a much needed break from carrying a purse.
I love this super soft striped tee and classic (and very old) denim jacket on top, finished off with my favorite navy espadrilles, the best hat (seen here, here and here) and my “firecracker” earrings – don’t they look like firecrackers?!
PS – If you’re looking for a Labor Day weekend outfit, this one is perfect to celebrate the end of summer in!
