A Perfectly Preppy Spring Outfit

This last week and weekend was a whirlwind! Hubby and I absconded to D.C. for some business followed by a quick dinner in Georgetown before heading home to spend some time with my visiting parents. Saturday, we took our big girl to a theme park in Virginia where I learned that a favorite adolescent past-time is now completely over thanks to my extreme motion sickness, and spent the rest of the weekend treated to meals I didn’t cook and a sparkling clean truck I didn’t wash! (Parents are the best! )It’s always so nice to have family come visit when you live far away from everyone, but so sad when its time to say goodbye again.

This was my outfit for one of the days during our busy weekend. We had some lovely chilly weather that was perfect for this preppy spring look!

A cotton pullover in a rich navy color over a lightweight gingham shirt is a staple preppy look that’s perfect for cooler spring days. This timeless look gets modernized by the trendy, strappy block-heels that coordinate perfectly with the leather on my favorite tote, and kept totally casual with a wrapped ponytail and white denim.

I loved wearing this outfit and even as the weather warmed up, I was still perfectly comfortable as everything is cotton. I wore this to church and lunch after, but this look is great for anything with a smart-casual dress code!
