Guys, I am soooo excited to share this post with you! You know me well enough to know that I get pretty excited about fashion – dresses, especially. I saw this frothy blue frock modeled on the gorgeous and extremely talented Rachel Parcell a few weeks before her eponymous spring collection launched at Nordstrom and it was love at first sight. I was aware that some of her previous collections sold out on the day they launched, so I made sure I was ready to go the minute this dress became available to buy online and I got it!! Oh, the thrill!! Sadly, it is currently sold out but read on for the good news!

In addition to some of the most unique and exuberantly feminine dresses, the collection also includes skirts, tops, and accessories in the same colorways as the clothing for a perfect match – LOVE! I made sure to pick up a few of the latter for good measure! I’ll share specifically what I got, what I’m keeping, and what’s going back and why.

The Dress
Every once in a blue moon you find a piece of clothing that makes you feel like the most radiant, shining star from the moment you slip it on. Your heart races and a smile that stretches from Paris to New York lights up your face and doesn’t budge. If a dress were ever made with me in mind, this one would have to be it! From the exaggerated puffy sleeves to the cinched waist and full skirt with floral-inspired trim, to the bright and cheery romantic blue color; this dress was made for a lady who keeps one foot in the present and one in the romanticism and elegance of the past.

The fit is perfect throughout and these dresses are running true to size. I am 5′ 1″ and the XS falls just below my knee. This gorgeous drapey fabric is lyocell, which is eco-friendly, attractive and durable when properly taken care of – just read the garment care label carefully! Verdict: this dress is definitely a keeper. I also bought another blue dress (blog post coming soon because it truly deserves it’s own post!) in a slightly different hue with it’s own unique set of dazzling details, which is also definitely a keeper!

The Accessories
I also snapped up these three accessories, which are not only lovely but are made to match the dresses in the collection. I kept the suede belt because it’s one of those elusive items that I’ve been hunting for, unsuccessfully, for months now. It’s real leather, made well and looks like it will stand the test of time despite me wearing it constantly!
The earrings and the silk scarf, however are going back. I am plagued with major sensitivity in my ears, so any weight more than a stud actually makes me sick to my stomach (anybody else have this?) and I could tell just pulling these out of the box that they were too heavy. The silk scarf, while so so beautiful and matched beautifully with the dresses and belt that I’m keeping is just so delicate and light that I’m afraid it would get destroyed the second my littles discovered it. The silk is also not the softest I’ve ever felt, but for the awesome price point, it’s justified.
