1 Outfit 3 Ways.

Last week when we shot these photos for this post, we were gearing up for yet another one of Nate’s monthly work trips. As often as he’s away, it never has gotten any easier to manage everything by myself. I’ll tell you why…

From the first day he leaves until about a week after he returns, the girls’ schedules and emotions are haywire. Lilly forgoes her naps, is awake all night (last night I got one full uninterrupted hour of sleep) leaving me with no time to get any school, or work done and very little energy to manage everything alone. She acts even more wild and cranky than usual and is impossible to take anywhere outside the house. Layla gets a little attitude-y and likes to fight with her little sister, but otherwise she’s pretty easy.

Even in the most frustrating of times, no matter how exhausted or overwhelmed I am, slipping away into my closet just to play around with new combinations of what I have in there is both calming and refreshing and gives me energy to push through the difficult days. And blogging about it is the cherry on top!

For this post I wanted to show you how I take 1 outfit and accessorize it 3 different ways for a full day of fun! I’ve had this floral print wrap-top for a few years and every year it remains one of my absolute favorite spring staples. Allover blush with mauve, navy, sky blue and light pink details tick every box for me as far as a color palette goes. Flutter sleeves and the feminine wrap style with a little bit of peplum flair are just fancy enough for my inner Edwardian era lady, yet casual enough to pair with these amazing ripped jeans. I wanted to replace the jeans you saw in this post with a higher-waist version of basically the same pair because they are literally as comfortable as pajamas. These J.Crew jeans are the perfect replacement! I’ve considered hemming up the darker colored released hem for a cleaner look and it actually looks like they did the opposite to make these! Super comfortable, super versatile (my favorite!), definitely recommend!

Nothing dresses up a casual outfit faster than simply popping a chic jacket over top! I love the contrast of the straight lines against the curvy flower pattern on the wrap-top. The navy stripes pull from the navy bits in the top and I’ve chosen to continue this with some ultra comfy navy leather bow flats and my most reached for navy zip-top tote.

Wear to breakfast or brunch, then out for some shopping!F

When I dress for the day, comfort is my number one criteria. Then style. Fortunately, with a floral wrap top, you get the best of both worlds! Slip on some white bow slides and grab your trusty vintage wicker clutch and enjoy what adventures await! I picked up this headband a while ago and have been waiting for just the right time to wear it since it’s such a sweet spring/summery look. Most headbands give me migraines, but this one is rather long and wraps down and around enough that it doesn’t bother me. Such a great little purchase to elevate every outfit this spring and summer!

Wear to a spring cookout, or just when taking the littles out to play!

Who said light colors are off limits in the evening? Sounds like another one of those antiquated fashion “rules” like not wearing white after Labor day. 😉 Wear what you love to wear, wear what you feel best wearing. That’s what I love about fashion! It’s your personal statement and there is no right or wrong way to do it! Except wearing actual pajamas outside the house…please don’t be that person. Blush block-heeled sandals and a blush quilted shoulder bag add a touch of glam to this outfit. I love this watch that Nate got me for Christmas with it’s gold, and rhinestone details and scalloped face. My gold Kate Spade pave bracelet – that you saw me wear here – ads a touch of sparkle for a casual evening outfit.

Wear for a dinner date with your friends, or significant other!
