What a wonderful month it’s been as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth! Stressful, busy, I ended up getting a cold a few days ago but nonetheless, wonderful.
We’ve been decorating gingerbread houses, eating homemade chex-mix by the pound, singing Christmas songs, watching all our favorite Christmas movies, seeing festive light displays, wrapping gifts for loved ones, and right now, about to decorate some Christmas cutout cookies!
Of course, the thing that’s always at the top of my mind is what I’ll be wearing. Never one to miss an opportunity to dress for an occasion, I will naturally be wearing something quite festive.
For those who don’t enjoy going OTT with their OTD, something like this will do quite nicely.
Festive, yet so feminine and so classic. Have you noticed a trend yet? I’m a huge fan of both and mixing the two this time of year usually means lots of bows, cable knits, plaids and timeless jewelry.
And layers! Layers are a cold weather staple that are not only practical but are a really fun way to play with mixing textures and colors. Worn under a sweater with jeans like I did, a plaid layer can liven up an otherwise boring outfit.
And Christmas, my friends, is no time for boring.
Off to decorate those cookies now, Merry Christmas!
