What to Wear: Christmas Sightseeing in the City

Advertisements

Last Saturday, we took a little drive up to D.C. to do some Christmas sightseeing. You can read all about it here, but I wanted this post to be just about my outfit, which happened to be the perfect one for the day!

It was cold – below 40 degrees – and windy but I will take that over a D.C. summer anyday. I love any chance to wear a cozy cable knit sweater and I just loved the look of this one with my plaid scarf! Its a wool-blend so I layered a long sleeve tee underneath both for comfort and warmth.

You have and will be seeing this coat and these boots on my blog a good deal this winter. I am obsessed with this Kate Spade coat and love the OTK boots with it!
The coat is also a wool-blend, so it’s very warm but not terribly scratchy on the neck, plus it has the sweetest ruffle details and a big BOW on the back! I also love the bell shape when it’s buttoned up. It’s just cute all around!
The boots are super comfortable to walk distances in and add an extra layer of warmth over skinny jeans. They were super inexpensive as well and have held up nicely for the few years I’ve been wearing them. Pair with some cushy boot socks and you won’t feel a bit of cold!

It’s all about the layers my friends.

Remember this necklace? It’s the one my hubby got me for my birthday and I have been wearing it nonstop since! It may be too late to order one for a Christmas gift but Valentine’s day is next up! *Hint hint!

I picked up this gorgeous cashmere scarf while in Scotland over the summer and have been reaching for it constantly – it’s just so soft and the colors are so festive!

Is it too early to say Merry Christmas? Never. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
